Comparing utilities computed in CBC/HB with those computed in SMRT

I would like to compare the utilities computed with CBC/HB with those computed and displayed within SMRT.   I thought I would be able to take a simple average across the respondents in the CSV file written by CBC/HB and it would match the utility for the corresponding feature/level displayed by SMRT.   If the utilities displayed in SMRT were not rescaled, would/should they match?

As you are noting, we rescale the utilities in SMRT's reporting (zero-centered diffs) to normalize people to the same scale.  If SMRT were not doing this rescaling transformation, then indeed the results would match just taking the average across the raw HB utilities.
