Maxdiff Scores Ranking

Hi ,

I have 6 groups and totally 26 items for maxdiff.

After maxdiff analysis i want to compute which item has max scores in each group.
Then I will show the respondents these 6 items with the maximum value in these 6 groups as text in the future questions.

Group1---> Item1 has the max score
Group2--->Item7 has the max score
Group3--->Item12 has the max score
Group4--->Item17 has the max score
Group5--->Item21 has the max score
Group6--->Item26 has the max score

Best Regards.

So for example group 1 might include items 1, 2, 3, and 4, then you want to determine which of those four items has the highest score?  Then the same for group 2 having items 5, 6, 7, and 8, and so on?
That's what i want.

Thank you.

Create a constructed list and give it these instructions:

Begin Unverified Perl
my $plist = 'list1';
my $exer = 'mxd';

addBestOf(1, 2, 3);
addBestOf(5, 6, 7);
addBestOf(8, 9, 10);

sub addBestOf {
    my $bestItem = 0;
    my $bestScore = -99999;
    foreach my $item (@_) {
        my $score = MAXDIFFSCORE($exer, $item);
        if ($score > $bestScore) {
            $bestItem = $item;
            $bestScore = $score;
    ADD($plist, $bestItem);
End Unverified

"mxd" should be replaced with the name of the MaxDiff exercise and "list1" should be replaced with the name of the exercise's list.  Lines 5-7 should be updated to reflect your group settings: each line being a group and the list in that line being the items involved in that group.

Your constructed list should now have the selected items and you can do with them as you wish.
