other specify not working

I see in previous posts that you can make other, specify take only numbers or only letters.  Is there something I need to do in the script if I don't want to limit it?  I have some of my other, specify options that are working while others are not and there isn't a clear difference in the ones that work or do not.   I really can't figure out what might be the issue...

When you say not working, what is it that isn't actually working?

If some responses are missing, you need to tick the required check box to ensure a response is captured.

Hi Paul, in some of these "other" boxes used for specifying, once I check the box, i can only enter 1 letter or number (or none at all).  It doesn't allow an entry.  Settings are set to 100 max characters so I am not sure what the issue is.
