if I can choose Chinese as language in sawtooth

hello, I wonder if I can design question in Chinese by sawtooth, because my respondents live in China.

We currently use v7.0.28.

Complete your survey as per normal in English.

In this version, under the File menu option, there is a Translation /  Export Text for Translation option. There is a range of languages to select from. Select English to Chinese. Export you .xlf file.

The .xlf file can be sent to a translation house / company who specialise in this procedure. They then perform the translation using their own software and you import it back into Sawtooth under the File / Translation / Import Translated Text option.

Now you have the survey in Chinese. I recommend someone with knowledge of the Chinese language thoroughly checks the survey.

I suggest to make a backup of .ssi file. The import process overwrites your initial file

I would also recommend you select the correct version of chinese.  I know there are at least 3 probably more.  If you cannot find the two letter version that represents your dialect in SSI Web then you can simply type it in.

You mean Chinese characters? If so, two main Chinese characters are widely used. In mainland China, they use Simplified Chinese, while in HongKong S.A.R and Taiwan, they use Traditional Chinese.

If you can type Chinese, I think you may directly do it in Sawtooth software, as it is well supported in Asian languages.
