Splitting Grid Rows with un-clickable lable rows

I am new to SSI Web and I am using version 8.4.8.

I have a list of select Grid row labels and they need to be split into various groups. I would like to have a row in between each group to just show a title for that group. This row should not have any select buttons in it because it is just a label.

Then I need to be able to randomize the order of the groups.

Thanks so much

You can pop this jquery into the footer of your grid question and it should do the trick.  You would want to replace Q1 with the name of your grid question and _r3 with the row you want to insert this sub-header before.  The colspan number should reflect the number of columns you have plus 1 to account for the row labels.  So in the example below I'm inserting before row 3 and I have a total of 3 columns (yes, no, don't know).  I've chosen to make the row with a gray background color.

<script type="text/javascript">
jQuery(document).ready(function ($) {
     $('#Q1_r3_row').before('<tr style="background-color: gray"><td colspan="4"> My header text before row 3 goes here </td></tr>'); });
