Documentation for configuring the Web Server

The IT-Department is configuring the Web Server for uploading my studies right now and there are some difficulties.
1. Therefore, we would need a documentation about the setup of access privileges.
2. Furthermore, we are in need of a documentation about the SSL encryption of passwords.
Thanks for your help.

For number 1 see https://www.sawtoothsoftware.com/support/issues/ssiweb/online_help/index.html
under General Web Interviewing (CiW) Help -> Survey Installation on Web Server.

For number 2, all you need to do is configure the web server to use SSL for the domain.  Then all web traffic involving the server for that domain will encrypted.  Just point the survey to that domain that uses SSL.  That's it.  For example, lets say the domain is www.myawesomesurvey.com and I am on a Linux server and my survey files are located in the /home/surveyfiles folder.

To configure nginx normally you have the following in the conf file:
server {
        server_name myawesomesurvey.com www.myawesomesurvey.com
    include /usr/share/nginx/error_pages;

    root /home/surveyfiles;

    location = / {
        index index.html index.htm;

To configure nginx for SSL use the following:

server {
      listen 443 default ssl;
    ssl_certificate /etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem;
    ssl_certificate_key /etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key;

     server_name myawesomesurvey.com www.myawesomesurvey.com
